Chil­dren en­joy Christ­mas jour­ney

THE en­gines and staff on the Kent and East Sus­sex Rail­way are work­ing at full steam in the run up to Christ­mas to cope with the well-loaded trains dur­ing this year’s ‘Santa Spe­cial’ sea­son. The last Santa Spe­cials run next Tues­day and Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 22 and 23 and Christ­mas Eve and are ex­pected to be fully booked. Events co-or­di­na­tor Liz Reid said: “Our vis­i­tors have com­mented on how de­lighted they are with the value for money. The ticket price in­cludes the jour­ney on our train to Wit­ter­sham and re­turn, a ride on the carousel and a trip on the minia­ture rail­way to meet and, have a free photo with the our ‘Snow Queen’ plus presents for the chil­dren and re­fresh­ments on the train” The Christ­mas Santa Spe­cial sea­son has been the ic­ing on the cake for an ex­tremely busy year for the rail­way. Liz Reid added: “Passenger num­bers have beaten records and its has been a very suc­cess­ful year for the line. “This year has been jolly hard work for our both our vol­un­teer and paid staff but the suc­cess of the year has made it all worth­while.”
