Titles up for grabs ahead of Supersixes finale
THE final week of the Winter League season in the Ashford Supersixes is primed for a stunning finale.
All three divisions are to be settled in the final games with the top two in the Premier League and Division 1 going head-to-head.
Ironically, Premier League Bliby and Division 1 side Misfits were both knocked off top spot after 1-0 defeats in the penultimate round of matches.
Lowly Spirit of 66 pulled off a 1-0 victory over Bliby with a goal from James Crump that boosted their own hopes of avoiding relegation.
As a result, A Team leapfrogged Bliby to set up a thrilling climax to the season as the pair meet at North School to decide the title.
Bethersden won the mid-table scrap against Mean Machine 3-1 and Shane Sims scored a hat-trick for the victors.
Third-placed Hammers could still claim a runners-up spot in the final round of matches. In their penultimate match, they beat United One Two 2-1.
Division 1 leaders Misfits slipped up and handed over the lead to Willsboro.
The Misfits were beaten by Sellindge FC courtesy of a Lee Miles goal, while Willsboro took advantage and went top with a 3-1 win over PGC.
The Division 3 title has also gone down to the wire with the Allstars holding the advantage after their 3-1 win over Choggers.
Allstars face third placed Wyeld Boys in the final game.
The Boys have a slightly inferior goal difference along with second placed Team WBM but big wins for either could still leave the top spot up for grabs.
Team WBM went second after goals from Dave Fisher and Mark Thompson sealed a 2-0 win over Wye Bova.
Alex Farrell scored both goals as Wyeld Boys clinched a 2-1 win over The Maulers. THE FIVE group leaders in the Ashford 5-a-side Champions League are all Premier League sides.
In Group A, Wraight Boys moved three points clear after a 9-0 win over Ashford 5s.
Dan Cornnell netted five of the goals and there was a hat-trick for Rob Greenfield. Also on target was Lee Milton.
Misfitts are second on six points after beating Allied 3-1. Goals were scored by Zak Morgan (2) and Jak Knight.
Group B leaders TDL have three wins from three. Their latest success was a 3-0 win over Hardly Athletic. Robbie Ovenden scored twice in the win.
Two teams are tied at the top of Group C with Hamstreet ahead of Baker Boys on goal difference. Bob Tanner and Dan Rose scored two each in Baker Boys’ 4-1 win over Libyans.
Hamstreet beat Pot Blacks 9-4 with Joe Spicer netting five of the goals and Terry King three.
Group D leaders Southloco’s Nicky Rivett scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Sutton Saints.
Fat Ox lead the way in Group E following their 8-1 win over second placed Nochos.
