A SUR­PRIS­ING num­ber of league games went ahead at the week­end de­spite the aw­ful weather con­di­tions.

In the county cup com­pe­ti­tions, all of the Ju­nior Tro­phy ties in­volv­ing the league’s teams were played.

Ash­ford Vic­to­ria proved too strong for Mer­sham Re­serves, go­ing through 4-1 with goals by Jack Bun­dock (2), Joe Mart and Luke Walder. Marsh Ath­letic also went through 4-1 at Whit­field, with War­ren Smith scor­ing a hat-trick.

Newchurch won 4-3 at Stonecross Phoenix. Lee Jack­man bagged a brace to add to two own goals. Ken­ning­ton Re­serves, how­ever, lost 3-2 to Barm­ing Youth, with Matt John­son and Adam Davies net­ting for Ken­ning­ton.

In the Ju­nior Cup, Brew­mas­ter Re­serves took the lead with a Si­mon Bourne goal against Maid­stone League side Ex­cel but were beaten 5-1.

The Ald­ing­ton against South Celtic tie was post­poned in the Ju­nior Cup, as were all of the Premier Cup games.

Churchill Roy­als con­tinue to go well in Divi­sion 1 with a 3-2 win over Ash­ford Dy­namo, thanks to goals from Paul Abb (2) and Ben Har­den.

Mar­ket Ho­tel Re­serves swept to a 5-1 home win over Eger­ton & Pluck­ley United through strikes from Chris Petts (2), Glen Rolf (2) and Paul Ros­sit­ter.

In Divi­sion 2, Brom­ley Green Re­serves kept up their push for pro­mo­tion with a 6-2 home win over Wye Monar­chs. Lee Blox­ham led the way with a hat-trick against his for­mer club.

The one game to take place in Divi­sion 3 saw Ash­ford Ea­gles win 3-1 against Bur­ton Grove. Phil Reed, Stu­art Wil­son and James Lewis were their marks­men.

In Divi­sion 4, Troggs Re­serves won 4-1 against Char­ing Re­serves through Mar­cus Pearce, Dave Collins and two own goals.

Hold­ers Lydd moved into the semi-fi­nals of the Divi­sion 1 Cup by beat­ing Galac­ti­cos 2-0 af­ter ex­tra-time, with Ricky Bing­ham and John Wil­liams on tar­get.

Man of Kent booked their Divi­sion 4 Cup semi-fi­nal place with a 2-1 win over Gi­vau­dan. through goals from Ben Hear­den and Mick Lock­yer.
