Cards offer drink advice to youngsters

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Family Announcements -

A DRUGS and alcohol service is handing out holographic help cards to youngsters who end up in casualty after drinking too much.

The young people’s team at KCA, a Kentbased charity which deals with drug and alcohol addictions, is giving accident and emergency departments and ambulance crews information cards featuring helpline numbers to pass on to any young people they treat.

The government’s chief medical officer, Sir Liam Donaldson, last week warned that exposure to alcohol at a young age is more likely to make children binge drinkers. His advice is that children under 15 should not drink any alcohol at all.

If you are concerned about your own or anyone else’s use of drugs and would like more information, call KCA on 01227 456744.
