New cook­ery book for cut-price en­ter­tain­ing

AN Ash­ford cook­ery writer has come up with a re­ces­sion bust­ing cook book. Bev­er­ley Piper’s new cook­ery book – Credit Crunch En­ter­tain­ing – con­tains 21 menus for en­ter­tain­ing on a bud­get. She has been writ­ing cook­ery books for more than 30 years and said the lat­est aims to show how much fun eat­ing out at home when money is tight can be. Mrs Piper said: “Each menu is de­signed to feed six peo­ple and you are en­cour­aged to do at least some prepa­ra­tion be­fore­hand, to make life eas­ier, when guests ar­rive.” In­cluded in the book are recipes for Lamb Tagine, Ca­jun chicken fa­ji­tas, Hun­gar­ian goulash, spiced rack of lamb, baked white chocolate cheese­cake, grid­dled pineap­ple, beef lasagne and banoffi pie.
