A birthday treat for Ingrid the tiger
WITH the kids off her hands, mum Ingrid could celebrate her birthday in style.
And what better way than to rip open loads of presents.
But these were of the cardboard variety as Ingrid is an Amur tiger at Port Lympne wild animal park.
Her sixth birthday was marked by presents and a card from her keepers.
Park spokesman Charlotte Jones said: “Ingrid’s cubs were transferred to another park when they were two, the same age that they would leave home in the wild.
“Therefore, Port Lympne keepers thought it would be appropriate to throw her a real birthday treat to enjoy all by herself.”
Charlotte said the birthday surprise was good for Ingrid and her partner Tugar.
Communications and business development spokesperson Kerri Watts added: “The enrichment activities help to keep the animals’ minds active and as they would be in their natural environment.”
