Lose pounds and benefit a good cause
NEW year dieters are being encouraged to lose a few pounds while gaining some for charity. Sarah Day, chairman of the Ashford and Romney Marsh link of the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline charity, hopes that those who feel in need of slimming down after the festive excess will want to join an 11-week dieting programme which also aims to raise cash for Demelza House Children’s Hospice and Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline. She said: “Come along to Ashford’s Stour Centre on Sunday, January 10. from 11am to 3pm to get information on our sponsored diet and get weighed in. “You can set your own target and stick to your diet for 11 weeks. “Come along again on Sunday, March 28, again from 11am to 3pm, for the final weigh in.” She added: “All participants who take part for the full 11 weeks and attend both weighins will be entered into a prize draw to win a pamper day at Eastwell Manor. “The winner will be announced on our Easter family fun day which will be held on Monday, April 5, at Hamstreet village hall.”
