Lose pounds and ben­e­fit a good cause

NEW year di­eters are be­ing en­cour­aged to lose a few pounds while gain­ing some for char­ity. Sarah Day, chair­man of the Ash­ford and Rom­ney Marsh link of the Ch­er­nobyl Chil­dren’s Life­line char­ity, hopes that those who feel in need of slim­ming down af­ter the fes­tive ex­cess will want to join an 11-week di­et­ing pro­gramme which also aims to raise cash for Demelza House Chil­dren’s Hospice and Ch­er­nobyl Chil­dren’s Life­line. She said: “Come along to Ash­ford’s Stour Cen­tre on Sun­day, Jan­uary 10. from 11am to 3pm to get in­for­ma­tion on our spon­sored diet and get weighed in. “You can set your own tar­get and stick to your diet for 11 weeks. “Come along again on Sun­day, March 28, again from 11am to 3pm, for the fi­nal weigh in.” She added: “All par­tic­i­pants who take part for the full 11 weeks and at­tend both weigh­ins will be en­tered into a prize draw to win a pam­per day at East­well Manor. “The win­ner will be an­nounced on our Easter fam­ily fun day which will be held on Mon­day, April 5, at Ham­street vil­lage hall.”
