Abandoned bicycles donated to charity
ABANDONED bicycles are to be donated to an Ashford-based cycling club for disadvantaged youngsters.
The abandoned bikes have been removed by the city council from the centre of Canterbury. Eight bikes were removed after warning notices were attached giving owners 14 days to remove them.
The council has donated the bikes to the Barnados Bike Library and Cycling Club in Ashford, which works to help disadvantaged young people in Ashford, Folkestone and Canterbury.
They will be repaired if possible, or used for spare parts.
