A CURRY house in Ten­ter­den has made the fi­nal of the Kent Restau­rant Awards.

Raja of Kent in St Michael’s is one of six fi­nal­ists in the Best In­dian Restau­rant cat­e­gory of the awards, or­gan­ised in as­so­ci­a­tion with OrderOn­

The oth­ers are In­dia Royal in Faver­sham; Jal­sha In­dian in Can­ter­bury; Raja In­dian Restau­rant in Maid­stone; Prince of In­dia Restau­rant in Faver­sham; and Spice Lounge, also in Faver­sham.

Food crit­ics

The Ra­javer in Bid­den­den is one of five nom­i­nees for the best take­away cat­e­gory, along with Zarin restau­rant in Ash­ford.

A panel of food crit­ics and jour­nal­ists will now visit the fi­nal­ists as part of their se­lec­tion.

Marks will be awarded ac­cord­ing to qual­ity of the cook­ing, am­bi­ence, use of lo­cal pro­duce, ser­vice, and the sup­port of sus­tain­able farm­ing prac­tices.

The win­ners will be hon­oured at a din­ner be­ing at Ash­ford In­ter­na­tional Ho­tel on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 28.
