Man bailed after police drugs raid
THOUSANDS of pounds worth of cannabis plants have been discovered at a house in Willingdon in Washford Farm, Ashford.
Police raided the home on the afternoon of Sunday, April 25, after reports of a strong smell of the drug was coming from the house.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I heard all this crashing and banging and then I saw the police coming out with all these big plastic bags and trays full of plants.
“There was about three or four police cars here and a big van. They stayed most of the day bringing stuff out of the house.”
Inside 250 plants were discovered along with cultivation equipment used to grow the Class B drug.
Windows are often covered and electrical boxes bypassed to ensure the plants receive heat and light for 24 hours of the day.
Police say a 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
