A MASSIVE £1,000 was raised in Ashford in just four hours for multiple sclerosis sufferers with two coffee, tea and cake mornings. The Cake Breaks were organised by Cypress Avenue resident Margaret Jenkins and her daughter Marion Towns. They were held last Friday and Saturday morning at the family home. Smashing their record of £525, Mrs Jenkins, whose son Paul suffers from MS, said she was ecstatic to have raised almost double. She said: “It’s amazing that we raised so much in just two two-hour Cake Breaks. We were running out of seats and running out of cups but it was a fantastic couple of days. “We had a real mixture of people and it was very sociable. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and to all the businesses who donated raffle prizes.”
