Fear­less knights joust at cas­tle tour­na­ment

AN ac­tion packed week of me­dieval ac­tiv­ity and en­ter­tain­ment awaits vis­i­tors to Leeds Cas­tle from June 1 to 6. Joust­ing at the Field of the Cloth of Gold fea­tures fear­less knights on horse­back per­form­ing dare­devil stunts, fights and falls in an au­then­tic joust­ing arena against the his­toric back­drop of the me­dieval cas­tle. In ad­di­tion to the twice daily jousts, there’ll be his­tor­i­cal ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren in­clud­ing archery and a new World of Wings free fly­ing bird dis­plays. The fun, in­ter­ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties are a great way to ex­pe­ri­ence learn­ing out­side the class­room in a her­itage en­vi­ron­ment. A small ad­di­tional charge ap­plies to ac­tiv­i­ties in the mar­quee. Tick­ets cost £17.50 for adults, £15 for se­nior cit­i­zens and vis­i­tors with dis­abil­i­ties (carer goes free), £10 for chil­dren (un­der fours free). Ev­ery ticket to Leeds Cas­tle is valid for 12 months and in­cludes en­try to an ex­ten­sive pro­gramme of var­ied and ex­cit­ing events.
