Swim­mer cel­e­brates his sil­ver op­por­tu­nity

PARALYMPIC swim­mer Ni­cholas Boy­lan cel­e­brated his sil­ver medal in a na­tional com­pe­ti­tion with the staff at Asda in Ash­ford. Asda gave Ni­cholas £500 from their Sport­ing Chance scheme which paid for equip­ment to help to­wards his train­ing. Ni­cholas, 25, won the sil­ver medal in the 100m breast­stroke at the Dis­abil­ity Swim­ming Bri­tish In­ter­na­tional Cham­pi­onships and re­turned to the store to thank staff for their back­ing. He said: “Thanks to the sup­port of Asda Sport­ing Chance and all my fam­ily and friends I am well on my way to achiev­ing my life­long am­bi­tion of com­pet­ing at the London 2012 Paralympic games.” Emma Smith, Asda Ash­ford gen­eral store man­ager, said: “Ni­cholas is an in­spi­ra­tion to all of our col­leagues and we look for­ward to see­ing him win more medals in the fu­ture.”
