THE Save the Children charity shop in Tenterden is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Among those joining in the celebrations were volunteers Edna Crawshaw and Joyce Blakey who have been working at the shop since it opened. Edna and Joyce, both from Tenterden, started work as shop assistants on the first day and have continued volunteering over the 30 years. The staff enjoyed cake and decorated the shop in Ashford Road to mark the anniversary. Volunteer manager Jean Honey said: “More than anything we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supports the shop because without them we wouldn’t be here.”
