Coms firm boss takes reins of net­work group

THE Wealden Busi­ness Group has elected Mike Pal­mar of Ten­ter­den-based Wave2 Com­mu­ni­ca­tions as its new chair­man. His ap­point­ment was an­nounced at the net­work­ing and busi­ness sup­port group’s last meet­ing at the Lit­tle Sil­ver Coun­try Ho­tel in St Michaels. Ho­tel owner Oliver Johnston handed over the chair­man­ship reins to Mr Pal­mar who runs an in­de­pen­dent com­mu­ni­ca­tions com­pany spe­cial­is­ing in tele­coms so­lu­tions. The non-profit or­gan­i­sa­tion claims to be the fastest grow­ing busi­ness group in the Weald with 32 mem­bers rang­ing from so­lic­i­tors and ac­coun­tants to car­pen­ters and elec­tri­cians. Mr Johnston said: “We pass a sub­stan­tial amount of busi­ness be­tween our­selves and are de­vel­op­ing a rep­u­ta­tion for qual­ity. “There are var­i­ous types of busi­ness within the group from trades to ‘pro­fes­sional’ peo­ple.” Mem­bers meet at the ho­tel from 7am un­til 8.30am ev­ery Wed­nes­day for break­fast which is usu­ally fol­lowed by a pre­sen­ta­tion.
