Riders raise thousands for hospices
HUNDREDS of fundraisers got on their bikes on Sunday to help raise money for the Pilgrims Hospices.
About 600 people saddled up for two rides that started in Ashford.
Olympic gold medallist Jamie Staff was among those who took part in the 70-mile cycle challenge event that set off from the Ashford hospice before visiting the other Pilgrims Hospices in Canterbury and Thanet and which raised an estimated £30,000.
Shorter rides, offering the choice of an eight-and-a-half-mile route or 15-mile route, for less serious cyclists and families started and finished at Ashford’s Victoria Park.
