Curtains up on birthday party tale
WOODCHURCH Players are performing their latest production Curtains at the Woodchurch Memorial Hall tonight (Thursday), tomorrow (Friday) and on Saturday (May 13-15). The drama, written by Stephen Bill, is laced with black humour, telling the story of an 86-year-old’s birthday party, which turns out to be a less than joyful occasion. Director Bernard Smith – winner of the Evening Standard Award for the Most Promising Playwright – has assembled an experienced cast, including Tina Gallagher, Richard Fair, Bryan Deverell, Val Smith, Vivienne White, Alan Stamp and Lesley Boxer. The play is being staged nightly at 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall.
Tickets are available by calling 01233 860245.
Iris Scandrett, the show’s director, hands the cheque to TODS honorary secretary Michael Patrick, with children of the cast James Hammond, Ginny Dearn, Phoebe West, Daisy Hutton, Lily Bromfield and Polly Hutton
