Towers triumph in county final
ASHFORD’S Towers School are county champions at under-15 level after beating Hayesbrook from Tonbridge 4-2 in the Kent schools final held at Tunbridge Wells FC. Towers were quick to take control and found themselves 3-0 ahead after just 18 minutes. Kieran Sabean’s superb volley after 12 minutes was soon added to by goals from Dion Orris. Hayesbrook pulled a goal back before half-time but a close range effort from player-of-the-match Orris after the break which completed his hat-trick, made the game safe for Towers. A second goal for Hayesbrook five minutes from time was too late to threaten the result. The win made up for last year’s disappointment for Towers when they were beaten 1-0 in the under-14 final by Dover Grammar.
