Accident worry over missing road lines
UNFINISHED road markings on Charing Hill are due to be finished by the end of this week, says Kent County Council.
One concerned resident contacted the Kentish Express, fearing there could be an accident.
The man, who did not want to be named, said: “This area is used as a rat run and cars come shooting down the road and without the lines on the junction it looks as though the road goes straight on.
“It makes it difficult for motorists who won’t know the road. I’m worried there could be an accident.”
The change to the layout of the lines at the junction was part of a safety scheme promoted by KCC.
Due to a breakdown in communication between the work crews they were not able to immediately mark out the lines.
A KCC spokesman said: “Kent Highway Services expects to complete reinstatement of the lining this week on Charing Hill.”
