Celebrity king’s ma­jes­tic role at char­ity auc­tion

CELEBRITY auc­tion­eer Christo­pher Big­gins gave ball-go­ers lots .... of laughs. The King of the Jun­gle acted as bid­taker for the auc­tion held dur­ing the Demelza May Ball hosted by East­well Manor, near Ash­ford, on Satur­day. More than 300 guests at­tended the event. The ac­tor and TV per­son­al­ity be­came King of the Jun­gle when he won I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here ti­tle in 2008. He led the live auc­tion with prizes in­clud­ing a round of golf with Jimmy Tar­buck at Royal St Ge­orge’s, din­ner at the Cap­tain’s ta­ble on HMS Kent and a Danc­ing on Ice pack­age. There was also a raf­fle with a Mini First car as the top prize. Demelza events co-or­di­na­tor Sarah Tay­lor said: “We are very grate­ful for ev­ery­one who sup­ported our May Ball, ei­ther by com­ing along on the night or do­nat­ing prizes or help. “Par­tic­u­lar thanks go to Christo­pher Big­gins for giv­ing up his time to be our auc­tion­eer and to ev­ery­one at East­well Manor.”
