FORTY-SIX Ashford women fly to Majorca next month with a fiendish plan to beat the Germans. But they’re not going to the World Cup. They’re off to party at the coastal nightspot of Magaluf and reckon German guests there won’t stand a chance when it comes to hogging the sunbeds. Group member Clare Grossman, of Holdenhurst, Washford Farm said: “You could say we have an indepth squad, after all there are 46 of us and you can’t get any larger than that.” The trip is the brainchild of Lesley Soper, of Brookfield Road, South Ashford, who will be celebrating her 50th birthday along with Kimberley Gooding who has ‘amalgamated’ her hen night with Lesley’s birthday. They fly out for the long weekend trip on Thursday, June 3, and they’re pretty confident of winning places on the sunbeds ahead of German holidaymakers, who are regarded as being early risers with a reputation among Brits for hogging the lounge chairs. “We’ve got a solution for everything because of our large numbers,” said Lesley, a civil servant. When they arrive all the party’s 46 towels will be given to Debbie Havell, 47, from Kennington, to keep in her room. “Debbie is a very early riser, getting up between 6am and 6.30am, and she’s tasked to put every one of the 46 towels on a sunbed to reserve them,” Lesley explained. The combined group are not only friends but many are related. They’ll be staying for three nights in Magaluf, said to be one of the world’s wildest nightspots, with all-night partying. It’s situated on the south west coast of Majorca. Not a stone of planning has been left unturned. Among the party is teetotaller Linda Gooding, mum of bride to be Kimberley. “Linda’s role is to make sure we all get home,” said Lesley. And Clare added: “Oh, yes, and we’re taking plenty of hangover remedies with us too.”
