Talk on chickens is a real tonic
THE old saying that laughter is the best medicine was certainly the case when the Ashford Heart Support Group were treated to a talk by Martin Gurdon about his chickens, their characters, problems and adventures. Sue Gammon, a cardiac rehabilitation nurse, also spoke about developments that, if desired, mean patients’ rehabilitation can be arranged nearer home, by attending the local gym, or even at home, rather than at hospital. The service is offered not just to those who’ve had a heart attack or a bypass operation, but also those who’ve had stents, strokes and rhythm and other disorders.
The group welcomes new members. Call 01797 363940 for more details.
