A-Team make winning start to Summer League campaign
LEAGUE CUP winners A-Team got their Ashford Supersixes Summer League season off to a great start with a 3-0 win over Spirit of 66. Knockout Trophy winners Misfits, who beat Willsborough 2-1 in the final the previous week, repeated the win with Scott Burden again scoring twice. Tom Poyner and Dave Billett netted for Ashford Allstars as they beat Hillbillies by the same score, and Team SBE defeated Norfolk 2-0 with goals by Dan Anderson and Ryan Croucher. Alex Farrell scored twice and Keiren Smith got the other as Wyeld Boys beat Green Street Reserves 3-1, and Taran Redman got Wye Bova’s winner as they edged Choggers 1-0. Dave Conner’s hat-trick setup Waitrose’s 4-2 win over Rocky’s Rangers in Division 2. Jack Periera also netted. JAKE NORTH’S hat-trick put newly-promoted Misfitts top of the Ashford SuperFives League Premier Division with a 4-2 win over Home Bull. Biker Boys are second after a 3-3 draw against Assasins, with Barry Arnold (2) and Paul Baker the scorers. Wraight Boys returned to winning ways, 3-1 against Aldington, while Lee Milton scored twice in TDL’s 3-0 win against Chart Leacon. Southloco claimed another Division 1 win, 3-2 over Libyans, Jordan Knell (2) and Kieren Tickner scored for Kennington in their 3-3 draw against Hardly Athletic, and McDonalds drew 1-1 with Spartans.
