LIAM TEGG scored 51 as Ash­ford Town recorded a nail­bit­ing win­ning draw against Sandwich in Shep­herd Neame Kent League Di­vi­sion 1 on Satur­day.

Luke Reeves (45) pro­vided am­ple sup­port as Ash­ford reached 220-9 from their 50 overs be­fore Simon Tay­lor (3-34) and Mohsin Raza (3-65) helped re­strict their op­po­nents to 2159 from 50 overs, with all three re­sults still pos­si­ble in­side the fi­nal over.

Michael James took three wick­ets and Es­sex’s Ryan ten Doeschate notched 2-52 as Beck­en­ham were dis­missed for 191. In re­ply, O’Brien cracked 13 fours and five sixes on his way to 107 off 87 balls, David Miles adding 42 as Folke­stone reached their tar­get in­side 29 overs.

No Ash­ford bowler av­er­aged less than five an over as the hosts amassed 298-4 in 43 overs.

Dann Cadd then scored 30 of Ash­ford’s 70 all out in re­ply, with just one other player achiev­ing dou­ble fig­ures.

Folke­stone 2nds were held to a win­ning draw by Brom­ley Com­mon at Cheri­ton Road in Di­vi­sion 2, de­spite Lau­rence Ward’s un­beaten 57 and Nathan Smith’s 4-49.

In Di­vi­sion 2, Hythe 2nds beat Black­heath by three wick­ets in a thrilling fi­nale in Di­vi­sion from the fi­nal ball of the 50th over. Ash­ford Town 2nds lost by 20 runs at Or­p­ing­ton, be­ing dis­missed for 185 in 40 overs, chas­ing 205.

Ten­ter­den 2nds fell 28-runs short against Gravesend, de­spite Ryan Knight’s 4-57 and 36 with the bat.

Ash­ford 4ths were handed a walkover win by Gravesend RF 2nds in Di­vi­sion 5.

Mer­sham Sports con­tin­ued their good start to the sea­son with three vic­to­ries.

The Satur­day 1sts and 2nds both cruised to eight-wicket wins in the Kent Re­gional League over the Mote 3rds and Yald­ing 2nds re­spec­tively.

John Webster took 9-21 as Willes­bor­ough bowled High Hal­stow 3rds out for 60 runs and won by six wick­ets in Kent Re­gional League 1B Cen­tral.
