Gor­don comes out on top in Seabrook rover

THE Seabrook Sea An­glers As­so­ci­a­tion midweek evening com­pe­ti­tion was won by Paul Gor­don of Stone Street.

His catch of 4.94kg from Sandgate beach in­cluded dog­fish, pout­ing and whit­ing.

Sec­ond place went to Ke­iron Bull of Hythe with 4.500kg also at Sandgate and third was Lee Heaver of Folke­stone with 4.160kg. Fourth place went to Do­rian Par­tridge with 2.76kg and Cliff Sharp was fifth with 2.72kg.

The com­pe­ti­tion was or­gan­ised as a rover, with an­glers able to fish any­where in Shep­way.

The Foun­tain Sea An­glers fished their event as a rover at Dun­geness with most an­glers crowd­ing around the Point sec­tion.

Top weight went to my­self with a cou­ple of dog­fish plus pout­ing and whit­ing for 3.100kg. Sec­ond was Michael Warne of Hythe with 2.785kg and third, Andy Friend with 1.820kg.

Ted Davies of Folke­stone was fourth on 995g and Her­bie Tyler of Cheri­ton was fifth with 860g.

Open com­pe­ti­tions com­ing up in­clude a South East Open se­ries at Pirate Springs near New Rom­ney on Sun­day, May 30, fish­ing from 11am un­til 3pm. For de­tails, tele­phone 07903 391565.

Club events in­clude Folke­stone SAA’s open in the War­ren on Mon­day, fish­ing 7pm un­til 11pm.

The Cinque Ports An­gling So­ci­ety took on the Maid­stone Vic­to­ria An­gling Club in their an­nual in­ter-club com­pe­ti­tion, this year fished on the Royal Mil­i­tary canal at Alder­gate.

Match win­ner was Chris Pope fish­ing for Cinque Ports with 3.460kg, who also landed a bonus tench.

Cinque Ports AS took the match with 8.570kg to Maid­stone’s 5.980kg.

In Folke­stone & Shep­way AC’s Thurs­day League com­pe­ti­tion at Rad­nor Park, Pete Joiner of Lyminge took first place with 30lb 8oz of mostly carp.
