School follows dream - but needs your help
DON’T lose heart! There are still two weeks to collect tokens to help Victoria Road Primary School’s dream of a new playground a reality. Year 6 pupils Millie Cronin, 10, and Grace Hollingsworth, 11, entered the competition, run by the KM Group and Denne, so their playground at Victoria Road Primary School can be more fun. Mums and dads have been dropping off plastic wallets to nearby newsagents to collect the tokens and a flyer is to be sent out to other local schools so they can support Victoria Road in its bid to win the £7,500 makeover. According to the latest table Victoria Road is in 10th place out of 19 schools taking part. In total the school has received 219 tokens. The school getting the most tokens compared to the pupil head count, will win. The token in next week’s Kentish Express will be a bonus token worth more points which could see the school shoot up the rankings. The school reception has a box for anyone who wants to donate directly.
