Go shop­ping for a role as a vol­un­teer

IT’S Na­tional Vol­un­teers Week next week and Vol­un­teer­ing Ash­ford is keen to show off the good work done in the town.

Sue Sawyer, the group’s man­ager, says Ash­ford res­i­dents have a rich his­tory of vol­un­teer­ing.

“The work of the vol­un­teer is es­sen­tial and Na­tional Vol­un­teers Week (June 1 to 7) is an op­por­tu­nity for ev­ery­one to come and find out how they can do­nate their time and en­ergy.”

From next Tues­day to Satur­day June 5, daily from 10am to 3pm, the group has been of­fered use of an empty unit at County Square shop­ping cen­tre to pro­mote vol­un­teer­ing, with mem­bers avail­able to find po­ten­tial vol­un­teers a suit­able role.

Sue Sawyer added: “Whether you are re­tired, look­ing for work or friend­ship or con­sid­er­ing a ca­reer change we have some­thing for you.”
