Gar­dens open to raise funds for ser­vice­men

A 10-ACRE gar­den is be­ing opened to the pub­lic to raise cash for ser­vice­men and their fam­i­lies in need.

The Beech Court, Chal­lock, gar­den of Vyvyan and Alexan­dra Harmsworth, will open to vis­i­tors on Sun­day, June 20 be­tween 11am and 5pm.

The en­trance fee is £5 per per­son, payable at the gate, with chil­dren un­der 15 ad­mit­ted free.

No dogs (ex­cept guide dogs) are per­mit­ted be­cause of the pet an­i­mals on dis­play at the event, which in­clude goats, tur­keys, guinea fowl and birds.

There will be a plant stall and light re­fresh­ments are avail­able.

The Welsh Guards brass quin­tet will play and all pro­ceeds will go to SSAFA Forces Help Kent, whose vol­un­teers have been de­liv­er­ing one-to-one as­sis­tance to Kent vet­er­ans and their fam­i­lies in need since 1885.
