Carers enjoy a fun day with family
A FUN-packed day for families with children with disabilities or long-term illness was held at The Carers’ Centre, Norman House, Ashford.
The event on Saturday, May 15, was hosted by Carers’ Support to provide a variety of information and fun activities.
Jason Mannlow from the Reward Project, baffled visitors with his magical tricks and illusions, while younger children were entertained by Nalini Vaughan’s singing and signing.
The Norman House venue is also hosting a Big Information Day on Friday, June 18, from 10am to 2pm as part of Carers’ Week.
The day is to provide free information to anyone looking after someone who has a mental or physical disability, or is suffering from a long-term illness.
To round off Carers’ Week, Carers’ Support is holding a quiz night at Norman House on Saturday, June 19, from 7pm. Tables of six can enter for £5 a head, including a buffet, with a box of wine for the winners.
All proceeds will go to Carers’ Support to help it continue to provide free support and information to all adult carers and young carers in the Ashford and Shepway areas.
