Car­ers en­joy a fun day with fam­ily

A FUN-packed day for fam­i­lies with chil­dren with dis­abil­i­ties or long-term ill­ness was held at The Car­ers’ Cen­tre, Nor­man House, Ash­ford.

The event on Satur­day, May 15, was hosted by Car­ers’ Sup­port to pro­vide a va­ri­ety of in­for­ma­tion and fun ac­tiv­i­ties.

Ja­son Mannlow from the Re­ward Project, baf­fled vis­i­tors with his mag­i­cal tricks and il­lu­sions, while younger chil­dren were en­ter­tained by Nalini Vaughan’s sing­ing and sign­ing.

The Nor­man House venue is also host­ing a Big In­for­ma­tion Day on Fri­day, June 18, from 10am to 2pm as part of Car­ers’ Week.

The day is to pro­vide free in­for­ma­tion to any­one look­ing af­ter some­one who has a mental or phys­i­cal dis­abil­ity, or is suf­fer­ing from a long-term ill­ness.

To round off Car­ers’ Week, Car­ers’ Sup­port is hold­ing a quiz night at Nor­man House on Satur­day, June 19, from 7pm. Ta­bles of six can en­ter for £5 a head, in­clud­ing a buf­fet, with a box of wine for the win­ners.

All pro­ceeds will go to Car­ers’ Sup­port to help it con­tinue to pro­vide free sup­port and in­for­ma­tion to all adult car­ers and young car­ers in the Ash­ford and Shep­way ar­eas.
