Road show puts spotlight on eyes
THE Ashford-based International Glaucoma Association is preparing for one of its busiest periods of the year.
Each year the charity highlights the need for regular eye tests to check for the disease by organising National Glaucoma Awareness Week, which this year runs from June 7 to 13.
As part of the national campaign it will be visiting selected towns in Kent from June until September to answer questions about eye health and glaucoma, and raise awareness of its free services.
The road show will visit Ashford’s County Square shopping centre on June 10, 11 and 12 and Folkestone high street on July 22, 23 and 24.
The charity, set up in 1974, has been at Highpoint Business Village, Henwood, for five years.
