Blowers centrestage for commentary on life
A LEGENDARY cricket commentator will be aiming to bowl over his audience when he takes to the crease at Tenterden’s Sinden Theatre. Henry ‘Blowers’ Blofeld appears at the theatre on Saturday as part of a national tour. The show, An Evening With Blowers, Caught Short And Grumpy, begins at 7.30pm. Henry Blofeld began writing about cricket for The Times in 1962 and has been a journalist ever since. He has written at different times for most national newspapers. His broadcasting career began at the start of the seventies and in 1972 he joined BBC’s Test Match Special. He has been a regular member of this famous commentary team ever since and after the departure of John Arlott and Brian Johnston, has become the great character of the show.
