TWO friends from the Kent Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers have joined forces to show their creations during next month’s South East Open Studios (SEOS) event. Dominique Morgan, who has participated in SEOS for the past five years, is sharing her studio in Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford with Frances Attree from Hernhill. They both draw their inspiration from nature and will exhibit a wide range of work. Dominique paints landscapes in pastel and acrylic and makes Nuno felt silk scarves. Frances makes silver jewellery, handsewn books and handspun rag rug cushions. They use their skills in spinning and dyeing to produce some of their work. Visitors can visit to see their work, have a chat and watch their demonstrations in spinning, rag rug and silversmithing. The studio is at Sandyhurst House, 186 Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford, TN25 4NX. SEOS runs from Friday, June 4, to Sunday, June 20. Please check opening dates and times on the website www.seosart.org and in the guide available from libraries, tourist offices and council offices. Studio trail maps can be downloaded from the website.
