IT was showbiz time for 160 senior citizens when Ashford Rotary Club hosted its 23rd year of Rotary Entertains for the elderly. Songs were performed at Norton Knatchbull School on Sunday with pupils from the Showbiz Academy, which has branches in both Ashford and Folkestone, singing numbers from West End musicals. The programme included Dennis Lea, a member of the George Formby Society. He played the ukulele and talked about the life and times of the ukelele king. Also entertaining were the Love to Sing Ashford Community Choir, set up by Tessa Fineman, the county’s music adviser for schools.
