Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Family Announcements - by Sam Lennon slennon@thekmgroup.co.uk

TWO business colleagues set off on a gruelling 300-mile charity cycle ride the day before the hottest weekend of the year so far. Peter Greenwood and Shelly Hathaway-Batt, from Ashford, left the Hythe Imperial Hotel on a circular trip around the Kent boundary. The pair departed last Friday in a trek to raise £1,000 for the Kent children’s hospice Demelza House. The anti-clockwise trip will cover the land and coastal borders of Kent, passing areas such as Dover and Dartford. Both cyclists are members of the Ashford Eureka Chapter of the business people’s group BNI (Business Network International). Mrs Hathaway-Batt is from the Challock-based company Colin Batt Removals and Mr Greenwood is from the Ashford design company Greenwood Graphics.
