TOW­ERS School and Nor­ton Knatch­bull claimed two wins each at the Ash­ford and Weald Schools’ Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion fi­nals. The Year 11 teams from Swade­lands and Nor­ton Knatch­bull started the day’s pro­ceed­ings at Home­lands, with goals by Rob Nash and Luke Hills earn­ing Swade­lands a 2-0 win. The Year 10 fi­nal was won and lost by half-time af­ter three firsthalf Tow­ers goals – the pick and can­di­date for goal of the day a drive from man of the match Bobby-Joe Tay­lor. Kieran Sabean also found the tar­get be­fore the break. Two goals by Ol­lie Rudd and a Sam Arnold strike gave Nor­ton Knatch­bull a 3-0 win over An­g­ley School in the Year 9 fi­nal, while Knatch­bull avenged their Year 11 de­feat by Swade­lands with a 2-1 win in the Year 8 match. Ashley Buck­man opened the scor­ing for Knatch­bull but Swade­lands drew level five min­utes into the sec­ond half through Luca Fa­soli and, just as the game looked likely to go to a penalty shootout, Knatch­bull scored the win­ner with a penalty by Ira Jack­son. The Year 7 fi­nal was won by Tow­ers, who took the lead against Knatch­bull on five min­utes through Tyler Wilkin­son. They ex­tended their ad­van­tage with 10 min­utes to go while Don­nell Camp­bell, in goal for Tow­ers, made an out­stand­ing save to keep a clean sheet. Be­tween games there was a pre­sen­ta­tion to Mike Tucker who col­lected a long-ser­vice award. Mike has acted as the school as­so­ci­a­tion trea­surer for more than 40 years.
