A PART­NER­SHIP of 211 be­tween Alan Stevens and David Fagg helped Mer­sham Sports main­tain their un­beaten start in the Kent Re­gional League Cham­pi­onship East Chas­ing Yald­ing’s daunt­ing 251, Mer­sham were in trou­ble at 37-4 af­ter Jumshad Haider had de­stroyed the vil­lagers’ top or­der. How­ever, Stevens (109) and Fagg (100) com­bined to fight back, with Fagg hit­ting 28 off one over on the way to the three­wicket win. The Sun­day 1sts – helped by Will Colthup’s 43 – saw off Holling­bourne and the Sun­day 2nds beat Mack­nade by 40 runs. Nick Pullin hit a cen­tury for the Sports. The Satur­day 2nd fell to a seven-wicket friendly loss to Leeds and Broom­field.

PARAG MAD­KAIKAR hit an un­beaten 115 to ease Hythe’s Sun­day side to a nine-wicket friendly win over Clar­ion. Chas­ing Clar­ion’s 175-6, Mad­kaikar (115 not) and Sam But­ler (63) all but saw Hythe home be­fore the lat­ter fell with vic­tory in sight.
