Drum and bass stars will headline Brake Hall gig
DRUM and bass stars Chase & Status have agreed to perform in Ashford. The versatile electronic production duo, who have supported the likes of the Prodigy and played festivals including Glastonbury and V Festival this year, will headline a gig with MC Rage at Ashford School in East Hill on Friday, December 17. The artists, whose real names are Saul Milton and Will Kennard, have been booked by Intimacy Promotions to play a 90-minute set to a crowd of just 600 in the school’s Brake Hall. Organiser Joshua Heyburn said: “They will be playing everything that everyone knows as well as tracks from their new album which will be out by then. It’s going to be huge.” Chase & Status’ first album went to No.2 in the UK dance album charts and was voted the best album at the 2009 Drum and Bass awards. The duo’s more recent tracks, End Credits featuring Plan B and Let You Go featuring Mali, have both peaked at No.11 in the UK singles chart. Both will feature on their as yet un-named second album, due for release on November 8. Their support acts in Ashford will include electronica newcomers You And What Army, local dubstep DJ Mr Strong and Kent electronic pop rock band LightsGoBlue, currently on tour in the United States with Enter Shikari. Doors are open from 8pm until 11pm. Admittance is for anyone aged 14 or older. Tickets are £15 and available from HMV stores in Ashford, Canterbury, Folkestone and Maidstone from Monday, November 1.
They can also be booked online at www.seetickets.com or www.hmv.com
