Drum and bass stars will head­line Brake Hall gig

DRUM and bass stars Chase & Sta­tus have agreed to per­form in Ash­ford. The ver­sa­tile elec­tronic pro­duc­tion duo, who have sup­ported the likes of the Prodigy and played fes­ti­vals in­clud­ing Glas­ton­bury and V Fes­ti­val this year, will head­line a gig with MC Rage at Ash­ford School in East Hill on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 17. The artists, whose real names are Saul Mil­ton and Will Ken­nard, have been booked by In­ti­macy Pro­mo­tions to play a 90-minute set to a crowd of just 600 in the school’s Brake Hall. Or­gan­iser Joshua Heyburn said: “They will be play­ing ev­ery­thing that ev­ery­one knows as well as tracks from their new al­bum which will be out by then. It’s go­ing to be huge.” Chase & Sta­tus’ first al­bum went to No.2 in the UK dance al­bum charts and was voted the best al­bum at the 2009 Drum and Bass awards. The duo’s more re­cent tracks, End Cred­its fea­tur­ing Plan B and Let You Go fea­tur­ing Mali, have both peaked at No.11 in the UK sin­gles chart. Both will fea­ture on their as yet un-named sec­ond al­bum, due for re­lease on Novem­ber 8. Their sup­port acts in Ash­ford will in­clude elec­tron­ica new­com­ers You And What Army, lo­cal dub­step DJ Mr Strong and Kent elec­tronic pop rock band Light­sGoBlue, cur­rently on tour in the United States with En­ter Shikari. Doors are open from 8pm un­til 11pm. Ad­mit­tance is for any­one aged 14 or older. Tick­ets are £15 and avail­able from HMV stores in Ash­ford, Can­ter­bury, Folke­stone and Maid­stone from Mon­day, Novem­ber 1.
