Star Fest’s £2,000 for good causes

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Weekend Fun -

While the Rolling Stones were headlining at Glastonbury, an annual Battle of the Bands competition raised over £2,000 for two good causes.

A line up of 10 musical groups wowed the crowds from midday to midnight for the ninth annual Star Fest, held at The Star pub in Ashford. Visitors dug deep to support the Kent Air Ambulance and IHH UK, the charity for idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

Cara Standen, organiser of Star Fest for the past four years, said: “I’m so happy with how the whole day went.

“Everything ran so smoothly and it was so lovely to see so many people here enjoying the bands and the family entertainment in the beautiful sunshine.”
