Great day at fair
A record crowd enjoyed a day of family fun at the Kennington Summer Fair on Saturday.
More than 2,500 people went to the Recreation Ground, Ulley Road, to visit the various stalls, take turns on the funfair rides, and enjoy the ice creams and hot food on offer.
Towers Cheerleaders, maypole dancers from Kennington Junior School, the Downs View Infants choir, Phoenix Primary School and the Reel Eire Dance Group provided entertainment in the arena.
The fun dog show was also a big success, with every pet on its best behaviour.
Fair organiser Jill Britcher said: “It was brilliant, the sun shone and the crowds poured in. This was a big day for the community in Kennington. So many local people were helping and local businesses were very generous with prizes for our grand raffle.
“A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success.”
