Wellard’s magnificent effort eases Egerton to big victory

Steve Wellard hammered an impressive 153 as Egerton romped to a 252-run home Division 2 win at home to Loose on Sunday.
The opener was well supported by Paul Hope (70) as the home side racked up 353-5, then Jack Garner took 5-34 as the Maidstone villagers mustered only 103.
Max Campbell continued his good form with 55 as Challock (148-4) won by six wickets at Headcorn (144)
Smarden (198-5) beat Harbledown (197-8) by five wickets in Division 1.
Ben Fulton (77), Alex Markwick (73) and Taha Tippu (65) all scored well as Mersham Le-Hatch (318-8) beat Saltwood by 127 runs in Division 3.
Aldington (106) lost to Dymchurch (188) by 82 runs, Elham Valley (111-2) were eight-wicket winners at home to Woodchurch (111), while Little Chart (161-5) went down by 123 runs against Holborough Anchs.
Guy Schindler hit 55 for Benenden as they won by 33 runs at Pluckley (135). Jake Symonds claimed four wickets for the beaten hosts.
Wye (140) lost by one wicket in a close finish at Leeds & Broomfield.
Bilsington (236-9) won by 28 runs at Selling (208)
In Division 5, Kyle McAllister hit 79 as Mersham Sports (192-9) went down by 94 runs at Bearsted.
Charing (124) lost by five wickets at Norton Sports (127-5).
Great Chart 2nds (149) went down by nine wickets at Medway side Borstal in Division 6
Ben Rolfe (66 not out), Jon Hughes (64) and Alex Hoyle (58) all batted well only for Kingsnorth (225-5) to fall five runs short at Offham (230-8).
Frittenden (61) lost by 166 runs at Upchurch (227-5).
