Get real on parking
You ask for views on the Eureka business park parking debacle, whereby a large number of business park users are choosing to be parasite parkers and use nearby residential streets as a free long stay car park. The business estate owners are extending their car park, which is good news until they also extend the business park when we will all be back to square one.
It is time Trinity College Cambridge – ultimate owners of the business park and one of the richest landowners in the UK – get real about providing free parking for the business tenants.
They currently charge for it which means companies turn a blind eye to their employees parking in nearby streets. This is stinking PR in the 21st century for companies and organisations who should know better.
The nuisance parkers come from all over Kent and not many, if any, from Ashford. Many display resident parking stickers from the likes of Maidstone etc.
They will not arrive by bus or car share in a million years. Get real Eureka before the new primary school opens in September and adds to the morning rush. Gerry Moore Ashford
