Park still neglected
Well done Sharon Rosewell for speaking up about the state of the Queen Mother Park (July 4).
I strongly support her comments, as I tried to campaign about the same thing most of last year.
I was in contact with two councillors who seemed to agree that something had to be done. They agreed that the following were needed; more rubbish bins, more dog waste bins, more benches and even a replacement children’s slide that was removed for safety reasons and not replaced.
But it seems that Sharon will be wasting her efforts as you have to belong to the “Forum clique” and be known for doing good in Ashford before.
The park is there for young and old alike and I too remember families enjoying the area but, as Sharon says, it is just a wilderness that breeds more rubbish.
As a regular user and dog walker, I have seen many things going on there, often illegal.
