Party marks health group an­niver­sary

Mem­bers of the Ash­ford Chronic Pain Group cel­e­brated the group’s first birth­day in style with a big party at the town cen­tre’s hub.

The group, which was es­tab­lished in 2012, has grown from just 10 mem­bers to 71 in its first year.

The aim of the group is to of­fer sup­port for peo­ple liv­ing with con­di­tions caus­ing longterm pain, in­clud­ing all types of arthri­tis, MS (mul­ti­ple scle­ro­sis), ME (myal­gic en­cephalopa­thy), fi­bromyal­gia, in­vis­i­ble dis­abil­i­ties and back, hip or knee prob­lems.

The group meets on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month from 10.30am to 12.30pm at The Hub, in Park Mall.

En­trance is £2 and re­fresh­ments are pro­vided.
