Ash­ford chef’s crown­ing achieve­ment

A chef from Ash­ford will get a taste of roy­alty when he takes part in an event this week at Buck­ing­ham Palace.

Gary Evans is the Euro­pean de­vel­op­ment chef for Tabasco Pep­per Sauce, whose par­ent firm the McIl­henny Com­pany is the only pri­vately owned US food com­pany to be granted a royal war­rant by the Queen.

Mr Evans will be cook­ing for guests at­tend­ing the Coro­na­tion Fes­ti­val mark­ing the 60th an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions of the Queen’s coro­na­tion.

Through­out the fes­ti­val, which is be­ing held at Buck­ing­ham Palace from to­day (Thurs­day) un­til Sun­day, Tabasco will be bring­ing a touch of Louisiana magic to the gar­dens of the Queen’s home.

Two hun­dred royal war­rant hold­ers will be ex­hibit­ing in the Palace gar­dens.
