Ashford chef’s crowning achievement
A chef from Ashford will get a taste of royalty when he takes part in an event this week at Buckingham Palace.
Gary Evans is the European development chef for Tabasco Pepper Sauce, whose parent firm the McIlhenny Company is the only privately owned US food company to be granted a royal warrant by the Queen.
Mr Evans will be cooking for guests attending the Coronation Festival marking the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Queen’s coronation.
Throughout the festival, which is being held at Buckingham Palace from today (Thursday) until Sunday, Tabasco will be bringing a touch of Louisiana magic to the gardens of the Queen’s home.
Two hundred royal warrant holders will be exhibiting in the Palace gardens.
