Pilgrimage lesson learnt first-hand by youngsters
All of the children from Brabourne Primary School took part in a pilgrimage to the local church.
Around 100 pupils, along with teachers, walked across the fields to the Five Bells pub for refreshments before heading to St Mary’s parish church last Friday.
Religious education teacher Jackie Roach said: “We’re a Church of England school so we try to teach the children Christianity in a fun way.
“Years 5 and 6 were learning about pilgrimages so I thought we would actually do our own one. It was really hot but they enjoyed it. There wasn’t one moan.”
Every child made a banner with a Christian or spiritual message before the pilgrimage at 12.30pm.
After the pilgrimage there was a short communion service at 2.30pm.
