Sleepover was a dream
A group of brownies joined thousands of others around the world taking part in The Giant Sleepover to raise money for UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation.
Sixteen youngsters from the 2nd Bybrook Brownies – who meet at the Pheonix Primary School in Kennington – joined the global sleepover on Saturday, June 22.
They spent the night at Ruckinge Scout & Guide hall and raised money by taking part and completing the challenge set by their Brown Owl, Maureen Thomas, to complete various activities, including their cook, artist and toymaker Brownie badges during the event.
They also took part in an indoor camp fire and played bingo.
All the money raised from the event will help fund UNICEF’s life saving work to make sure that every child has enough nutritious food to eat.
