Cup­pas help top up pot with vi­tal funds

Suf­fer­ers from Parkinson’s Dis­ease and their fam­i­lies have been helped by the pro­ceeds of a char­ity tea.

Mem­bers of the Ash­ford branch of Parkinson’s UK held the event at Lon­don Beach Ho­tel, Ten­ter­den. Sixty-four peo­ple at­tended.

Un­der a scheme run by the venue, the cost of the food is do­nated back to the char­ity.

From the tea, or­gan­ised by Keith and Bar­bara Punt and Chris­tine En­der­sby, Lon­don Beach has do­nated £487.50.

In May and June, the ho­tel helped 22 char­i­ties by do­nat­ing a to­tal of £22,354, in­clud­ing £5,676 to Ten­ter­den Day Cen­tre for its golf day and lunch.

Events have in­cluded Sun­day lunches, din­ner dances, af­ter­noon teas, cream teas and golf days.
