Blood donors given awards for dedication
Long serving blood donors from Ashford and Tenterden were among 68 people from across the South East awarded for their selfless efforts in helping to save lives.
They were recognised by NHS Blood and Transplant for their loyalty and commitment to blood donation at an awards ceremony held on Wednesday, June 26 in Croydon.
Individuals were presented with crystal awards at the ceremony.
The award winners included Leslie Wood, of Willesborough and Alan Crottyof Tenterden, who have both made 75 donations.
John Canning of NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We are proud to reward these incredible people, these silent heroes, who have rolled up their sleeves so many times over the years to help save lives.”
