Blood donors given awards for ded­i­ca­tion

Long serv­ing blood donors from Ash­ford and Ten­ter­den were among 68 peo­ple from across the South East awarded for their self­less ef­forts in help­ing to save lives.

They were recog­nised by NHS Blood and Trans­plant for their loy­alty and com­mit­ment to blood do­na­tion at an awards cer­e­mony held on Wed­nes­day, June 26 in Croy­don.

In­di­vid­u­als were pre­sented with crys­tal awards at the cer­e­mony.

The award win­ners in­cluded Les­lie Wood, of Willes­bor­ough and Alan Crot­tyof Ten­ter­den, who have both made 75 do­na­tions.

John Can­ning of NHS Blood and Trans­plant, said: “We are proud to re­ward th­ese in­cred­i­ble peo­ple, th­ese silent heroes, who have rolled up their sleeves so many times over the years to help save lives.”
