Action taken to provide safety advice
The Mayor of Ashford, Cllr David Smith, was among the visitors who called in on a series of safety workshops held at the Towers School in Kennington.
More than 1,200 pupils leaving their primary schools to move up to secondaries this summer took part in this year’s Safety in Action fortnight.
The workshops, for Year 6 pupils from 34 primaries across Ashford borough, ran from June 17 to June 28, offering youngsters advice on road safety, home fire prevention, safe bus and coach travel, the dangers of drugs and alcohol, criminal damage and the importance of school attendance.
In last week’s paper we carried a report on the workshops which included the wrong photos. We apologise for the error.
