A for­mer sand pit quarry near Ash­ford is to go un­der the auc­tion­eer’s ham­mer later this month with a guide price of £50-60,000. The 15.5-acre site at Gra­nary Court Road, Smeeth, now mostly grass, with wood­land ar­eas near the bound­aries, is among 58 lots be­ing sold by re­gional land and prop­erty auc­tion­eers Clive Em­son at the Kent County Show­ground, Detling, near Maid­stone start­ing at 11am on Tues­day, July 23. James Em­son, auc­tion­eer, said: “This is not quite the Gar­den of Eden but it may well make de­cent graz­ing land.” The ad­min­is­tra­tor of an es­tate has also in­structed the firm to sell 1.5 acres of wood­land within Etch­den Wood, Great Chart, with a guide price of £2-3,000.
